Tanjirou has been supporting his family since the passing of his father. The Kamados live a peaceful, happy and relatively impoverished life on a mountain. Tanjirou goes to the village one day to sell charcoal to earn a few dollars. Tanjirou is forced to seek shelter at the home of an unknown man on his return journey. The stranger warns Tanjirou of demons who eat flesh in the night woods. The next morning, when he returns home to find his family dead, it is a shocking sight. The only survivor of his family is Nezuko. She has now been transformed into a demon with a thirst for blood. Tanjirou, consumed by hatred and rage, swears to revenge his family and stand by his last remaining sister. Tanjirou, along with the mysterious Demon Slayer Corps group will do anything to protect his sister and the last traces of her humanity.
